According to Illamasqua:
'An essential for any screen goddess, Illamasqua matt Primer helps create a flawless, shine-free base. For use under foundation or on its own, this professional cream formula offers UVA and UVB protection and gives skin an even, matt finish. Prepare to impress.'
I suffer from extremely oily skin, especially around the sides of my nose and just under my lip. I bought the Illamasqua matt primer as part of the summer sale. I've always been too lazy to go out and buy a primer, but now I don't think I will ever go without one. I have been using this for months now. It costs £19.50 for 30ml. It's at the more expensive side of the price scale.
The website encourages you to apply it with a foundation brush which I haven't actually tried, instead being lazy and using my fingers. It's transparent and blends in clear. It has a liquid consistency and it doesn't leave any residue. I didn't find that I had to wait for it to set or dry, I apply my Illamasqua rich liquid foundation over the top straight after, which is handy if you don't have much time in the morning.
I always seem to get home after college or university, look in the mirror and find that all my make-up has either vanished entirely, has gone patchy or has just generally turned into one big mess. With this primer my make-up actually lasts from early in the morning until I get home in the afternoon or evening, even on those really hot days. It also didn't dry out my skin. This being the first primer I have used I can't really compare it to any others, but personally I find that this works really well for my skin. It doesn't break me out either.
Illamasqua also have a Satin primer which might be good to alternate with the Matt one in Summer/Winter if you have combination skin.
I don't currently own an eye primer, but having becoming so attached to this one I'm now saving up for the Urban Decay primer potion. I don't know how I ever survived without one!
I've also been lusting over Illamasqua's Baptiste nail polish for months now. It's one item that is definetely on my christmas list!
Do you use a primer? If so which one?
Disclosure: I bought this product myself.
