Business cards!

I've been looking into getting business cards since I went to the TOWIB event and kept wishing that I had some! I think they're something that is really handy to have, I often have friends or relatives ask me to send them a blog link and 99.9% of the time I always forget.

It took me absolutely ages to find somewhere to order some. There's absolutely tons of websites and to be quite honest I didn't know what I was looking for. I also wanted something cheap. In the end I went with Vista Print, as they had an offer on for 250 business cards for £2.50, so I decided that at that price it wasn't too bad if I didn't like them. I think it came to around £3.60 with postage, which still isn't a lot. A free card holder was included in the offer too. No idea what I'm going to do with that though.

I chose one of their ready-made templates because my photoshop/designing skills are pretty terrible. The font and colour scheme was what I would've chosen anyway, and it works for what I need it for.

I chose the 21 day delivery which was much cheaper then the faster delivery, yet my cards arrived today, just over a week after ordering. Not sure that I would be too happy with that if I'd paid double for faster delivery.

Overall, I'm really happy with them. I got 250 business cards for a really good price. However, I would say that if you are ordering from Vista Print, be very careful. Literally every little thing costs more and they try and bump up the cost at every opportunity, which can be annoying. So bear that in mind while ordering.

17 Magnetized Nail Polish

I've been wanting to try magnetic nail polish for ages after reading all the posts about it, and I finally managed to pick some up. I was never into crackle polish, but magnetic polish is something that I found really intriguing and really wanted to try.

17 Magnetized Polish comes in 4 different colours. Unsurprisingly, I chose lilac. They cost £5.99 each, making them cheaper then both the Nails Inc and Fashionista versions.

The lid of the polish comes off to reveal a smaller lid, which is much easier for application. I applied one coat, let it dry, and then applied the second coat and hovered the magnet over the top. I recommend doing it nail by nail as the polish needs to be wet for the magnet to work, and it dries quickly!

The magnet has a little ridge to rest the nail on, which makes the whole process much easier. I held the magnet over the top for around 15-20 seconds. The boots website recommends 10 seconds but I'd leave on a tiny bit longer. As it was my first attempt, my final result wasn't exactly consistent. I'm right handed and completely and utterly useless when it comes to using my left hand for anything, so I managed to bump the magnet against my nail a few times when painting my right hand. You have to be very careful to make sure the magnet stays still.

My camera has a thing about nail polish, it never photographs right. The polish is a little brighter and more of a purple then it shows in these pictures. You'll have to excuse my super messy application, I was in a bit of a rush.

I applied the polish on Saturday and it started to chip on Wednesday. Very impressed! Polish never lasts on me, so I'm happy.

Overall I think the effect is really beautiful. It's very different, and much, much nicer then crackle polish in my opinion. I'll probably be buying people this for Christmas this year!

This polish is avaliable at Boots.

NOTD: 17 Magnetized Nail Polish

I'll be reviewing this polish properly next week once I've seen how it wears, but I thought I'd share a picture of it beforehand. I've just been out Christmas shopping so I'm a little over excited! Christmas is my favourite part of the year.

You'll have to excuse my messy application. I can't wait to see how long it lasts. I'll hopefully be able to review it next week.

Has anyone else tried magnet polish? What did you think?

Disclosure: I bought this product myself.

Another Vivo Review! Lipsticks, Blusher and Bronzer.

I made a trip to my local (I say local, it's still a good 15 minute drive away) Tesco the other day and picked up some more Vivo stuff! I bought two lipsticks in Barely There and Crushed Amethyst, the bronzer in Healthy Glow and the blusher in Rosy. I also picked up the eyeshadow trio in Innocence which I'll review separately (hopefully this week) once I've had time to really test it out.
