Illamasqua Freak

Freak is the first fragrance release from Illamasqua. I've been hugely intrigued by this perfume since its release, so naturally I was very, very pleased when I received a sample with my latest online order.

As far as samples go, this has to be one of the best presented I have ever seen. Illamasqua definetely don't do things half way. The little bottle comes with a list of the key notes and a little poem.

I haven't heard of most of the key notes, let alone know what they smell like. Together it's quite an interesting scent, very rich in and very dark, which is to be expected from Illamasqua. I wouldn't wear this during the day, it's definitely a scent that should be reserved for evening. I sprayed the smallest amount on my wrists this morning and I was still smelling little hints of it several hours later.

Personally I really like this scent. It's very unique, and despite Illamasqua marketing it as being a unisex perfume there is something about Freak that I find particularly feminine. It may be too rich for some, but I love it.

Now, I would love a full bottle. But honestly, I can't justify spending £59 on a perfume, especially one that I won't wear in the daytime. It's a lovely scent for evening, but for a student like me it's just beyond my budget.

Have you tried Freak? What do you think?

Disclosure: I received this sample with an online order.

  1. I haven't tried it but I have only heard good things about it.

  2. It's a beautiful scent, I love it but I think it might be too rich for some. I'd love a full bottle but the price tag is big too big for me!

  3. I love it- I also discovered it through a sample. I also can't afford a full sized bottle :(

  4. Yeah it's very expensive. :( I recently received a 15% off discount code for my birthday and I still can't justify it. Am using the sample sparingly!
