imPRESS Press on Manicure

I love having long nails. I never used to be able to grow my nails as I used to play the violin, so when I gave that up I really wanted to make the most of being able to grow them. I've now had pretty much constant long nails since. Earlier last week they all began to break, so I had to cut them down, and they've ended up being very short. I have had these press on nails by imPRESS for months (a friend gave them to me who didn't want them) and I had put them in my box and forgotten about them, mainly because they're so short and I didn't want to have to cut my nails just to wear them! So when I was looking at my sad little nails I decided to finally give them a shot. Now, I don't know the shade name of these as it isn't listed on the box! If anybody knows please comment and I'll update this.

To apply these, you have to measure them against your nail, choose the five that fit you the best and peel off the tape on the back. You then apply them to your nails, with the thumb applied last. At first this was really easy, but I struggled to get the sticky back off after I'd finished one hand! Overall it was a very easy and also a very quick process. It took me about five minutes to apply these! Some of them are a little wonky as it was first time using these (my first time using fake nails, in fact) and some of them that I applied using my left hand are more than a little crooked, but overall they're quite neat.

If you read this blog frequently then you'd know that this is the neatest my nails have ever been! I really like the overall effect of these, they make having short nails much more bearable. The colour is nice, it's a reddish brown that seems to change depending on the light. These don't really feel like false nails either. They are very comfortable to wear and the shortness of them means that they are very easy to work with. They feel very secure.

These lasted for four days until one of them popped off (I was trying to get one of my tablets out of the packet when this happened) and I'm really pleased with how long they lasted. Some of them are tougher than others (the ones on my left hand for example I had to remove because none of them were coming off) but overall they all lasted well.

I think these nails are excellent if for example you have to have short nails for work or because you play an instrument and you want to have longer nails for a week! They are very comfortable to wear and the shortness of them means that they don't feel awkward. I'd definitely wear these again.

These nails cost £8.99 from Boots.

Disclosure: These were given to me by a friend.

  1. I have often wondered about these, but I was always dubious about how long they would last! I'm a bitch for opening and picking at things with my nails so I was guessing that they wouldn't last a day on me! Hahah I also didn't think they would feel very secure! I would give these a go now, but I'm in the process of trying to grow out my nails back into the long pointy/oval style I had a year ago and they're coming along nicely, so unless they all break, I won't be able to! (Here's hoping I haven't just jinxed them and they don't break!) ♥

    1. So am I, that's how they ended up popping off before the one week mark! I'd have tried these sooner but I love having my nails longer. I feel a bit lost now that they're short, haha! I really like them, I want to get some of the patterned ones!

  2. They look shiny, but very natural at the same time. I wonder if I could properly wear them and don't stop eating, cooking, tyding up around and so on. I am so clumsy! Indeed, I am wondering how resistant are they? I need something strong that don't break easily.

    1. They are very shiny! I get asked if my natural nails are fake all the time, but when I was wearing these nobody asked me! The only issues that I had with them were trying to pop tablets out of the packet and picking sticky labels off my books, everything else wasn't too much of an issue. :)

  3. They look pretty. :) I wonder how long they will last. I think patterned nails are worth buying, since it's kinda difficult to make patterns on your nails the normal way. For me anyway. :P

    1. For me too! :P Some of the patterned ones look really pretty. Much faster than attempting to do patterns too!

  4. I couldn't grow my nails long no matter how hard I tried when I was younger, I was a terrible nail biter but I longed for long nails, it wasn't until about 3 years ago that I finally gave up the nail biting habit, almost over night, and have been growing my nail since! Over the past 4 months or so I've been quite lucky in that none of them have broken so they are a very nice length, in need a trim if truth be told!

I have that exact same set of imPRESS nails myself! I got them months and months ago when I used to subscribe to Glossy Box! I wasn't sure about them to begin with and was planning on giving them away but I've heard some very good things about them since! It's good to know I have a back up if my nails ever decide to be a pain in the ass and break! ~♥~

    1. I used to bite my nails when I was younger but forced myself out of it in an attempt to get long nails, but unfortunately mine have always been really weak and flimsy. I'm always scared to trim mine just in case! Really hoping mine start growing quickly soon, I hate having short nails.

They are really pretty aren't they? I think that was why my friend gave them to me, she couldn't see herself using them either. They are definitely good for making your nails look better after you've had to cut them really short!

    1. Me neither, but these don't really feel like false nails because they're short! Much easier to wear I imagine (I've never had real false nails before).

  8. Hellow,
The colours its quite exquisite,They look quite natural too for fake nails, i wish i had nails enough for doing something like that, but they are just too little to even use fake nails, I have been a nail bitter all my life.

    1. The colour is beautiful, I love it. These are specially for short nails so you could definitely wear them! I had to cut mine down really short to use them.
