Deep Purple Sinistra Ring by Dark Elegance Designs

Hello again! Can you believe that it is September already? I've said this numerous times before, but this year is going so quickly. I'm very pleased that autumn is nearly here though. I'm looking forward to being able to go out in the quiet. I also hand in my dissertation on Monday, and my master's degree ends. I had it printed and bound on Friday, so I just need to hand it in. I've been busy attending job interviews and trying to catch up on my sleep.

I thought I'd spare a few hours to finally get back into blogging again! I want to start planning posts properly again (I would also like to post some more book reviews) since I neglected it so much during my degree.

Some of may recall that I reviewed the Deep Purple Sinistra Choker by Dark Elegance Designs last June (here). I had originally intended to review the Sinistra ring shortly afterwards, but time slipped away from me again. I purchased this from The Gothic Shop.

I adore the design of the choker accompaniment of this ring, so I couldn't resist buying this ring when I saw that it was available. I was very tempted by the green and the black ring, but I chose purple in the end as I do not own many purple pieces.

This ring features a dark purple stone encased in an ornate silver frame. It matches the centre of the choker perfectly. It's also adjustable, and has a detailed band that you bend around your finger. The back of this ring is surprisingly detailed, which I actually didn't realise until I turned it over to take these photos! It's a wonderful touch, and gives the ring a certain opulent aesthetic.

As with the choker, the colour of the stone is impossible to truly capture. It's a lovely deep purple, and there's a lot of depth to it that my camera can't pick up. It glows in sunlight, and the silver frame complements the purple stone perfectly. I'm also pleased to see that more brands are bringing out adjustable rings as my fingers are so tiny that I usually have to have them resized. This ring is a little big for me, but not overly so. I'm a UK size H and a half, so if you are smaller than this it probably will not fit. It's still comfortable regardless. It's also very large. I wasn't sure about it at first because my fingers are so small, but I really like it now. It makes my fingers look tiny but it's very elegant!

As always, this ring feels very well made and the detailing is wonderful. It would make a wonderful gift since it's adjustable. I actually haven't worn the ring with the choker yet, but I imagine they look lovely together!

This ring costs £17.50 from The Gothic Shop. You can use the code FBKNAV to get 10% off your order. This choker is also available from the Dark Elegance Designs Etsy.

Is there anything that you would like to see on here? I'm hoping that I will be able to devote more time to this blog now my degree is over.  I'm not posting a monthly update for August since it was just full of university work, but I'm planning on continuing those soon.

I hope you are all having a wonderful September!

Disclosure: I bought this ring myself. I am part of the The Gothic Shop's affiliate scheme, but this does not affect my opinion.

  1. Oh, this piece is stunning. And I am truly attracted by the colour; it looks a bit like ombre, which I like. Also, the ring being adjustable is a plus: I have got tiny fingers as well, so I am glad to hear you didn't need to resize it.

I might get this brand a go!
Thank you so much for the review :)

I handed in my MA diss last week, IT'S SUCH A RELIEF X

    1. Thank you so much Katy!

It's such a relief! I'm sad that my studies are now over but it was so much work! I'm busy worrying about results day now!

  6. Congrats on finishing your dissertation, and best of luck job hunting.

Your nails are beautiful, and show that gorgeous ring off perfectly.

I like your book reviews; they often send me off to read great books like The Passage, and I'm curious as to what you thought of Brandon Sanderson.

    Jane (Breaking the Angel)

    1. Thank you Jane! The job hunting is very stressful and frustrating, I'm just hoping that it will all somehow work out in the end.

Thank you! I wish they were my real nails! They're some glue on ones from Boots.

I actually have a Brandon Sanderson novel that I'm looking forward to reviewing. I've really been enjoying his work recently.
